The New York Jets’ Mark Sanchez (91) and the Buffalo Bills’ Tyrod Taylor (88) were two players who were selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the first round of the 2014 NHL Draft.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod (91), the Bills first round pick in 2014, was the first quarterback to go through the draft since former Browns quarterback John Elway (81) and Bears quarterback Jay Cutler (81).
It was one of the most difficult times for a rookie quarterback to get into the league.
Tyrod had a 3-3 record as a starter.
Buffalo’s first-round pick in 2016, Tyrod is the highest-ranked quarterback in Buffalo history to start a season and he will be the team’s starter when the Bills face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 on Oct. 26.
Tyro is a big part of Buffalo’s success this season.
The Bills had the league’s fourth-highest scoring offense last year, according to ESPN Stats and Info.
Bills head coach Rex Ryan will need to have a better quarterback this year.
The Steelers have the NFL’s second-best defense, and they allowed only 23 points per game last season.
With the Bills having the league lead in sacks, the Steelers will likely try to use Tyrod as a defensive weapon.
The Jets, on the other hand, are a team that has struggled to score points and have struggled to convert big plays on offense.
The Giants were expected to be one of Buffalo and New Jersey’s biggest challenges this season, but they were not able to overcome the Bills dominance in the passing game and their inability to score touchdowns.
New York’s first round selection, wide receiver Josh Boyce, is one of those players that could have an impact in Buffalo.
Boyce had a breakout year for the Giants in 2016 after being signed by the Jets, catching 55 passes for 834 yards and five touchdowns.
Boycott, who was a third-round selection, has the size, speed and speed to be a dominant player in Buffalo’s offense.
Boycot is a former player who is a huge part of the Giants offense.
In 2016, Boycott caught 58 passes for 931 yards and six touchdowns.
He caught more than half of the passes thrown his way.
Boychess also has the physical skills and talent to be an elite receiver in the NFL.
He was the Jets top receiver for two seasons.
Boyschess will be a big factor in Buffalo and will have an opportunity to start in Week One.
It is possible that the Bills can overcome the Patriots and Jets in Week Two.
The Patriots were one of New York City’s top teams in 2016.
New England finished fifth in the league with a 31-7 win over the Buffalo Lions.
New English coach Rob Gronkowski was the head coach in 2016 and won the Super Bowl in New England.
The second-year coach in New York has made significant changes to the Bills defense.
He has the talent to succeed in Buffalo, and the Bills will likely be the beneficiaries of a strong performance by Boyce.
Buffalo will likely need Boyce to be at his best to take advantage of Buffalo being in a good spot in the AFC.
The third-year safety was an undrafted free agent and has played all over the field.
Boy is a physical and talented player, and he should be a great addition to the Buffalo defense.
Boyse also has an ability to catch the football and play outside in space.
Boy, a former cornerback for the Jets and Dolphins, was a first-team All-Pro in 2016 when he played for the New York-New England Patriots.
Boyscoll has played in the slot and safety for the Bills in both years.
He is an outstanding athlete who has the athleticism and speed that can be used as a weapon in the Bills’ defense.
In 2017, Boyscolls breakout season was his only one in Buffalo as he was a second-team all-pro at cornerback in 2016 with a Pro Bowl selection and a Pro Bowler award.
Boysey was also named AFC Defensive Player of the Year for the third straight season.
